Enjoy Every Meal With Dental Implants
Imagine yourself sitting down for a breakfast of bacon and eggs, a fresh banana nut muffin, and a cup of coffee.
Your company is updating their website soon, so today they are taking new photos of all the employees to post online. You check your teeth before you leave — looking good if you do say so yourself.
Now imagine that same morning if you were missing a couple teeth.
You might have to pass on the bacon (too crispy or too chewy) and the muffin. Well, you could pick out the nuts. The eggs would be OK, but you may have to let the coffee cool down. When it’s too hot, it really hits a nerve (literally).
Oh yeah, and that company picture … maybe you can convince them to use an old photo. With the gaps in your smile, you really would rather not have that on display.
If you can relate more to the second scenario than the first one, you could contact Hubbard and Leath Dental. With dental implants at our dentist office in Rochester Hills, you will be able to eat the bacon and banana nut muffin, and you will be proud to show your smile.
If It Looks Like A Tooth And Acts Like A Tooth …
… it might really be a tooth, or it might a dental crown or bridge placed on a dental implant. You probably won’t know unless you ask.
You may be asking what a dental implant is and what it can do for you.
A dental implant is a replacement for the root of your tooth. Like your roots, dental implants are held in place by your alveolar bones.
The gives you more strength and stability than you might expect with other tooth replacement options. That stability will give you the confidence that your teeth will remain in place.
This means you can bite into and chew any food that you like when you have dental implants. You won’t have to pass on the bacon, the nuts, or even corn on the cob. With dental implants your dental crowns, bridges, and even dentures will stay firmly in place.
And think about how your teeth look. You’ve seen someone smile who is missing a tooth. If he or she is 8 years old, you kind of expect it, and you know his or her adult tooth will be coming in soon.
If that person is 48, the missing tooth can seem a bit distracting, however. Even when he or she closes his or her mouth, you might catch yourself wondering what happened to that tooth.
Did it get knocked out? Did they lose it to tooth decay or gum disease? Are you even paying attention to what he or she is saying?
How To Get Your Dental Implants
If you are serious about getting implants and you live in or near Troy or Rochester Hills, then you should contact our dentist office, Hubbard and Leath Dental.
Our own Dr. Leath has taken advanced education in implantology. That means we don’t have to refer you to another dentist office to get your implants.
That also means our staff has the skill, experience, and expertise to place your implants so that you receive the maximum benefits.
Here’s how we do it.
We will examine your mouth to plan the placement of your dental implant. The implant will be inserted into your bone where your root used to be.
Each implant is a titanium cylinder. Placing the implant helps your overall oral health by stimulating new growth in your bone. This causes the bone to bond directly to the implant, which is what makes it secure.
When you are ready, we can add a dental crown to replace a single tooth, a dental bridge to replace multiple teeth, or a set of dentures to replace a full arch of teeth.
When you are finished, you’ll find that you have a smile that looks natural and healthy.
You will learn pretty quickly that you don’t have to worry any eating any foods that you want to eat. Dental implants restore your bite force to something close, if not equal, to the bite force you had when you had all your teeth.
In a perfect world, no one would ever lose any teeth. Since we live in the real world, sometimes we lose teeth, and we have to decide what we will do about it.
For what it’s worth, Dr. Leath has said if he lost a tooth, he would want an implant for himself.
